After the freezing temperatures we’ve had this winter, it’s encouraging to see a few signs of life in some of the plants that have held on.
The harsh winter has wreaked havoc on our tropical backyard oasis. The only green to be found is the weeds of course! Is it spring yet?!
Houston has had it’s third snow this season, and this time it’s sicking around. Our tropical plants are not doing well anymore from the ice.
Houston has had a crazy winter so far, much colder than normal. With freeze warnings many nights this month, our plants are all but gone.
It’s the first day of December, and thanks to the mild weather, the plants that have survived thus far are still lush and green.
This week in our garden, we’ve cut back some of our plants, and others are growing, including a bushel of bananas!
The cooler Fall weather has started to roll in, and some of our tropical plants are not liking it right now while others are thriving.
It’s in between seasons right now, so we haven’t planted anything for the fall season yet, but the summer killed off most of our plants.
Today is the start of fall, do you know what that means? Nothing in south Texas. It’s still hot, and our garden is responding appropriately.
Hurricane Harvey came through our area two weeks ago. We are very lucky that the only damage we had was to some of the plants in the garden.
