I love almost everything made from apples. They are one of my favorite fruits by far. And right now, as the weather is starting to cool off and Fall is approaching, apples are going to be in season and tasting better than ever. And nothing is better than apples and ice cream!
We had fun making our Sauteed Apples with Ice Cream. I thought it would be more difficult, but the longest part was actually getting the apples sliced up. Years ago, we got this apple slicer that helps speed the process up a lot. I use the apple slicer to cut the apples into wedges, then cut the peels off with a knife, and cut the wedges into smaller slices.
In a large skillet, melt the butter, then add the apple to the pan. Saute these for about 7-8 minutes. or until the apples are soft. Then add in the brown sugar and cinnamon, cooking for a few more minutes.
Once the apples are cooked, scoop them out into a bowl and add a scoop (or two) of ice cream on top. Then enjoy! Justin doesn’t usually like things that are hot and cold at the same time like this, but he loved this dessert.
