After the freezing temperatures we’ve had this winter, it’s encouraging to see a few signs of life in some of the plants that have held on.
The harsh winter has wreaked havoc on our tropical backyard oasis. The only green to be found is the weeds of course! Is it spring yet?!
Houston has had it’s third snow this season, and this time it’s sicking around. Our tropical plants are not doing well anymore from the ice.
Houston has had a crazy winter so far, much colder than normal. With freeze warnings many nights this month, our plants are all but gone.
It actually snowed in Houston last week! While the snow was fun, it was not very kind to all of the tropical plants we have in the backyard.
It’s the first day of December, and thanks to the mild weather, the plants that have survived thus far are still lush and green.
This week in our garden, we’ve cut back some of our plants, and others are growing, including a bushel of bananas!
Mother Nature is just playing with us! She can’t make up her mind if we are done with summer or not, and the plants don’t know what to do.
The cooler Fall weather has started to roll in, and some of our tropical plants are not liking it right now while others are thriving.
It’s in between seasons right now, so we haven’t planted anything for the fall season yet, but the summer killed off most of our plants.
